RocknRola was founded by Susan Cohn Rockefeller (Rock) and Carola Mack (Rola) as a fashion-forward way to inspire others to think about the state of our planet and the state of our hearts. As the designer, Susan had a hard time confining her vision to one line, so she created six: Rocknrola, Oceana, Unity, Stress Less, Garden and Love. Each collection has a special story and is inspired by nature, travel, humor, kindness, creativity and more! Rocknrola and Oceana will be the first two to launch in February, 2010.

Versatile, chic and always in fashion, each piece presents a simple, powerful, “wake-up” statement that urges us to act on behalf of this world we all share. Deeply committed to nurturing our planet, Susan chairs the Ocean Council for Oceana, a non-profit organization that works to protect and restore the world’s oceans. Therefore, all materials are sustainable and sourced through an environmental lens.

RocknRola designs combine downtown style, uptown swank and social awareness.

"On a whim, I took a classic strand of uptown pearls and transformed them into downtown cred by adding a sterling silver message tag that expressed my worries about our environment, our sometimes lackadaisical attitude toward helping one another, and the general weight of the times we’re in. I added another charm and then another, and another. A charm necklace!” says Susan. “I test-marketed a few on friends and family. They were stopped so many times they asked me if they could carry business cards. Apparently, other folks were being weighed down as well. This led to new tags. Some playful, some inspirational, some hopeful, all meant to motivate and awaken."
